My name is Maggie Wachtel, I am a senior Public Relations major at Kent State University. Currently, I work as a Marketing Assistant for the College of Communication and Information, where I write for the CCI website and blog, while also assisting in the planning and execution of marketing related events.
This past summer, I interned for True Digital Communications, a digital marketing firm, in Solon, Ohio. As the Content Intern, my key responsibilities were writing posts for various client social media platforms and writing briefs and stories for monthly client newsletters.
I was previously one of ten Kent State public relations students chosen to participate in the Bateman Case Study competition. Myself, along with my team members, researched, developed, implemented and evaluated a strategic campaign for their national client, Student Veterans of America.
Previously, I was a beat reporter for The Kent Stater, where I covered finance and jobs. I reported on stories concerning the student-loan debt crisis and popular student jobs. My other responsibilities included generating story ideas and meeting strict deadlines.
I am in the process of completing a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations, currently maintaining a 3.5 GPA. I expect to graduate in May 2017.
